Foureighty

Came across this cafe as passing through Shenfield needing a coffee after Pilates. Got parked right outside, table in the sun and probably the nicest tasting coffee I’ve had in a long time. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the place has a nice vibe. Will definitely be returning as literally 10 mins from home

Foureighty turned out to be an absolute delight. Chic without being aloof, relaxed yet full of atmosphere, it struck exactly the right balance. The staff were all smiles, genuinely attentive, the kind of people who look out for you rather than just serve you. I am fairly sure the person who may be the owner was there too, strikingly modest, humble, and welcoming. The décor deserves a mention. Somehow it is both modern and homely at the same time, cosy without ever feeling cluttered. I have no idea how they have managed it, but it makes the whole space feel instantly comfortable. The coffee was excellent, strong but smooth, and the food was fresh, vibrant, and genuinely tasty. I stayed for three to four hours while working and never once felt like I was overstaying my welcome. Quite the opposite, the place seemed to invite you to settle in. The layout gives you options depending on your mood. There is an outside terrace where people were soaking up the September sun, cosy sofa areas, and even a hidden annex perfect for quiet work. I chose to sit near the front because I enjoy a bit of background buzz, but there is also a lovely garden space that looked like it could easily host small parties. In an age where customer service often feels like an afterthought, this café proves how powerful it is when done right. It is the kind of care and attentiveness that keeps people coming back. I live a couple of hours away, but I am seriously considering making Foureighty a weekly treat.

stopped on ride out to Hadleigh Castle. Parking right outside, seating outside, friendly service, good food and drink and really interesting venue inside. Service was very friendly and attentive, tried some special cola and a lovely spicy tuna melt sandwich. Great little place, hope to stop again!t

Absolutely amazing coffee and the kindest staff ever! I was getting a haircut for my son at a nearby shop and decided to grab a coffee from this lovely café. While I went to check on him, the wonderful lady from the café actually came over to the shop and personally served me the coffee there! How incredible is that? Talk about going the extra mile! The coffee was fantastic, and the service was truly heartwarming. Can’t recommend this place enough!

I popped into foureighty recently and honestly, it’s one of the best coffee spots I’ve been to. You can tell straight away how much care they put into everything - from the beans they use to the way they serve it. The coffee is incredible. The vibe in there is great too - modern but relaxed, and the people behind the counter are friendly and know their stuff (shout out to Tom). It feels like they’ve really nailed that balance between quality and community. You can tell they’ve spent time getting everything right, and it shows. If you’re into proper coffee, definitely give foureighty a try. I’ll 100% be back.
